Army Postal Service Re-Union from Dec 19
Army Postal Service is organizing its 7th Re-Union at its Centre in Kamptee (Nagpur) from 19-20 Dec 13. Army Postal Service is responsible for mail communication within the Armed Forces and Para Military organizations. Although raised on 01 March 1972, the history of the APS dates back to the 19th Century, when FPOs accompanied the Army expeditions. The APS serves as a link between the Army personnel posted in remote and inaccessible terrains and on special duties like the United Nation assignments and their loved ones back home. The service is manned by over 6000 men, most of which are drawn from Department of Posts.
Re-Union in the Army is generally held every four to five years. It is an occasion where the young soldiers meet the old soldiers and exchange their ideas and experiences. Some of them meet each other after a gap of even decades at times. They then recall their past experiences and share cherished memories.
