The Destruction On The Island Of Saipan After A Direct Hit From One Of The Strongest Typhoons To Ever Make Landfall
The island of Saipan in the Pacific's Northern Mariana Islands, a US commonwealth, sustained a direct hit from Super Typhoon Yutu. Yutu, which had sustained winds of 180 mph and gusts of 200+ mph when it hit Saipan, is the fifth strongest storm to ever make landfall.
