DIG, North Kashmir, Garib Dass, said the police and Army’s 21 RR and 6 Para cordoned off Kurhama forest in Handwara on specific information about the presence of militants in the area on Saturday night. “When the joint team began the combing operation, the militants hiding in the jungle began firing at the forces.
